How to Remove the Old Greetly Bot for Teams and Install the new Greetly Bot (version 2.0.0)

A quick guide for Teams Administrators - removing the old Greetly Bot for Teams and installing the new version 2.0.0 Greetly Bot in Teams

Old Greetly Bot Uninstallation

  1. Go to the Microsoft Teams Admin Center.
  2. Open “Teams apps” on the left sidebar >> “Manage apps”
  3. Search for the old Greetly bot (v1.0.7)
  4. Open the bot.
  5. There is an ellipsis on the right side of the bot. Click.
  6. Then click “Actions” >> Delete.
  7. Refresh the Teams tab (maybe multiple times).

New Greetly Bot Installation

  1. Download New Greetly Bot (v2.0.0).
  2. Go to the Microsoft Teams Admin Center.
  3. Open “Teams apps” on the left sidebar>> Manage apps.
  4. Click the “Upload new app”.
  5. Select a new Greetly bot from the folder on the computer. 
  6. If every step is correct, we will see the “New app added” pop-up.
  7. Refresh the Teams tab (maybe multiple times). 

Please note, it could take some time for a new Greetly Bot (v2.0.0) to show up in the Teams.


Add a new Greetly Bot to the Teams

  1. Go to the Teams (with chats)
  2. Open the “Apps” on the left sidebar.
  3. Click the “Built for your org”, and you will see Greetly Bot (v2.0.0) there.
  4. Open the Greetly bot by clicking it. 
  5. Press the “Add” button.
  6. You will see the bot (Greetly Bot v2.0.0) added to the left sidebar. If your email is in the Greetly database, you will see the following interface:

Add the new Greetly bot to Teams for all users:

Make sure that the org policy for the given users allows third party/custom apps

For the best user experience, make sure that Upload custom apps and User pinning are toggled on

To automatically install the Greetly bot for all users, click Add apps, then search for and add the Greetly bot that you previously added

To automatically pin the Greetly bot to all users Teams page, click Add apps, then search and add the Greetly bot you previously added. 



You’re all set and ready to receive notifications via Greetly Bot. Congratulations!
